AI can do anything now. Being you is the only thing left.

Here's the thing nobody wants to say plainly: the machines can do almost all of it now. They write, they code, they draw, they argue, they plan. Most of the skills I spent a decade sharpening are, increasingly, a commodity you can rent by the token. That should be terrifying. For a while it was.

Then it flipped. If the work is commodity, the only thing that isn't is the specific, weird, non-reproducible fact of being a particular person — your taste, your judgement, the exact combination of things you happen to care about and the way you put them together. That doesn't copy. It can't be prompted into existence. It's the last scarce thing.

So the move isn't to out-compute the computers. It's to lean all the way into the part of the work that's yours: what you choose to make, what you refuse to ship, the call you make when the spec runs out. The AI is the most powerful tool I've ever held. What I point it at is the whole game.

This site, the products, the writing — it's all one long argument for that. Build real things, in the open, as myself. If I'm right, that's the thing that compounds. If I'm wrong, I still got to make a load of stuff I'm proud of. I'll take that bet.
